Strozzapretti with Tomato Sauce and Basil
Strozzapretti. Means 'priest stranglers' in Italian.
Sometimes food is serious business. Sometimes it just makes you laugh. That was the case when I saw the name of this pasta in the last Corti Brothers quarterly newsletter, and I knew I had to buy it.
Last season I made several quarts of tomato sauce to keep us going until this summer's sauce time, and Todd grabbed a bag of it from the freezer for this pasta. We have fresh basil in the garden right now, and it was a perfect excuse for a simple dinner after a long day at the office. We finished our meal with a fresh salad from the garden.
